Car
If you're driving from the town of Carrabassett Valley, head north on Route 27 for approximately 13 miles. You'll pass the entrance to Sugarloaf Mountain on your left. Continue on Route 27 until you reach the intersection with Route 16 in Stratton. Turn left onto Route 16 and continue for about 6 miles. Look for the signs that indicate the Bigelow Preserve. Turn onto Bigelow Mountain Road, which will lead you toward the trailhead for Mt. Bigelow. Note that parking may require a small fee at certain trailhead lots, typically around $5.
