From the Western Maine Mountains, take ME-4 S towards Farmington. Continue on ME-4 S until you reach the intersection with ME-17. Take a right onto ME-17 S and continue until you reach the intersection with ME-1. Merge onto ME-1 S and follow the signs for US-1. After about 60 miles, take the exit for ME-3 towards Belfast. Continue on ME-3 for approximately 11 miles until you reach Prospect. Turn onto Ft Knox Rd, and you will find Fort Knox and the Penobscot Narrows Observatory at 740 Ft Knox Rd, Prospect, ME 04981. There is a parking fee of approximately $5 for vehicles.
