From Lilongwe, take the M1 road heading south towards Salima. This is a major highway and well-marked. Drive approximately 120 kilometers until you reach Salima. Once in Salima, follow the signs towards the shores of Lake Malawi. You will need to find a suitable place to park your car near the lake, as there are no direct car accesses to Boadzulu Island.

After parking your car, head to the lakeshore where you can find local fishermen and tour operators offering boat rides. Negotiate the price for a boat trip to Boadzulu Island. Expect to pay around 5,000 to 10,000 MWK for a round trip, depending on the boat size and number of passengers. The boat ride will take approximately 15-30 minutes, depending on weather conditions.

Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, you can take a minibus from Lilongwe to Salima. The minibuses leave from the Lilongwe bus station and the fare is around 1,500 MWK. Once you reach Salima, ask the minibus driver or locals for directions to the lakeshore. Then, follow the same instructions as above to find a boat to Boadzulu Island.

If you are already in Salima, you can walk to the lakeshore from the town center. It is about a 15-20 minute walk. Just head towards the lake, and you will find the shore where boats are launching.
