Car
If you are traveling by car, you can start your journey from Lilongwe, the capital city of Malawi. Head south on the M1 highway towards Zomba. After approximately 65 kilometers, take the exit towards the M5 road. Continue on the M5 for about 30 kilometers until you reach the sign for Chongoni Rock Art Area. Follow the signs, and you will arrive at the entrance of the site. There is a small entrance fee (approximately 2,000 MWK) per person to access the area.

To reach Chongoni Rock Art Area using public transport, take a minibus from Lilongwe to Dedza. The minibuses depart from the Lilongwe Bus Station and the fare is about 1,500 MWK. Once you arrive in Dedza, you can hire a local taxi to take you to the Chongoni Rock Art Area, which is around 20 kilometers away. The taxi fare should be negotiated but expect to pay around 5,000 MWK for the journey. Make sure to ask the driver to take you directly to the entrance of the site.
