Car
From Dedza town, head east on the M1 road towards Salima. After approximately 30 km, take the exit to Mtakataka. Follow the signs towards Mtakataka, and continue on the road for about 10 km. The Dedza-Salima Forest Reserve is located near Mtakataka, specifically at QCMR+4RR. Look for signs indicating the entrance to the forest reserve.

Start at the Dedza bus station and take a minibus heading towards Salima. Inform the driver you want to stop at Mtakataka. The journey takes about 45 minutes to an hour, depending on traffic. Once you arrive at Mtakataka, you can either walk or hire a local taxi to take you to the Dedza-Salima Forest Reserve, which is roughly 10 km from the town. Make sure to negotiate the fare with the taxi driver beforehand.
