By Car
If you're traveling by car within Lake Malawi, head towards the Rumphi District. From Nkhata Bay, take the Mzuzu Road (A1) northbound. Continue on A1 for approximately 42 kilometers until you reach the turn-off for Chitimba. Follow the signs that direct you towards Chitimba. The camp is located near the lake, and you should see the entrance clearly marked once you're close.
By Public Transportation
To reach Chitimba Camp by public transportation, you can catch a minibus or shared taxi from Nkhata Bay to Rumphi. These run frequently and will cost around 1,000 MWK. Inform the driver that you are heading to Chitimba. Once you reach Rumphi, you may need to take another minibus or taxi towards Chitimba, which will cost an additional 500 MWK. Look for local transport options that head towards the camp, and don't hesitate to ask locals for help if needed.
Walking
If you are already in Chitimba village, the camp is a short walk from the main road. Head towards the lake, and follow the path that leads you down towards the beach area where Chitimba Camp is located. This should take about 10-15 minutes depending on your pace.
