Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in Area 12, you can start your journey by heading towards Kenyatta Road. Look for any local landmarks like the Bingu National Stadium or the Lilongwe Golf Club to orient yourself. From the stadium, head east on Kenyatta Road. Continue walking straight for about 1 kilometer. You will see the entrance to Lilongwe Nature Sanctuary on your left, marked by a sign and a gate.

  • Bicycle

    For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from a local shop in Area 12. Once you have your bike, head to Kenyatta Road. Cycle eastward along Kenyatta Road, and keep an eye out for the sanctuary entrance on your left after approximately 1 kilometer. Cycling is a great way to enjoy the scenery while getting to the sanctuary.

  • Public Transport (Minibus)

    If you prefer using public transport, you can catch a minibus to the central bus station. From any point in Area 12, walk to the nearest minibus stop. Take a minibus heading towards the Lilongwe Central Business District (CBD). Once at the CBD, transfer to a minibus that goes to the area near Kenyatta Road. Inform the driver that you are going to Lilongwe Nature Sanctuary, and they will drop you off as close as possible. From there, it will be a short walk to the sanctuary entrance.
