Experience Lilongwe Nature Sanctuary

Getting There

  • Walking

    From the City Centre, head southeast on Kamuzu Procession Road. Walk towards the intersection with Kenyatta Road. Once you reach the intersection, turn right onto Kenyatta Road. Continue walking straight for approximately 1 kilometer. You will see the entrance to Lilongwe Nature Sanctuary on your left. It should take around 15-20 minutes to walk there.

  • Bicycle Rental

    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from a local rental shop in the City Centre. After renting, head southeast on Kamuzu Procession Road towards Kenyatta Road. Turn right onto Kenyatta Road and cycle straight for about 1 kilometer. The sanctuary entrance will be on your left. The total cycling time should be approximately 10 minutes, not including rental time.

  • Local Minibus

    To take a local minibus, find a minibus stop in the City Centre, typically around the Old Town area. Board a minibus heading towards the area near the sanctuary. Inform the conductor that you want to get off at Kenyatta Road near the Lilongwe Nature Sanctuary. The fare is usually around 200 MWK. Once you get off, walk back a short distance, and the entrance to the sanctuary will be on your right. The travel time may vary but expect around 10-15 minutes depending on traffic.
