Car
From Mulanje town, drive south on the A16 road towards the Mulanje Massif. After approximately 20 km, you will reach the entrance to the Mulanje Mountain Conservation Area. Continue driving along the main road until you reach the Fort Lister Gap, which is located at coordinates -15.8367, 35.6908. Make sure to pay the entrance fee to the conservation area, which is around 5,000 MWK for foreign visitors.

Public Transportation
Take a minibus from Mulanje town heading towards Mulanje Mountain. These minibuses depart from the bus station in Mulanje and are frequent. Inform the driver or conductor that you want to go to Fort Lister Gap. The ride will take about 30 minutes. The fare is approximately 700 MWK. Once you arrive at the entrance of the Mulanje Mountain Conservation Area, you may need to walk or arrange for a local guide to take you to the Fort Lister Gap, which is a short hike from the entrance.
