Getting There

  • Car

    From Phalombe Plains, head southwest on the main road towards Mulanje. Continue driving until you reach the junction at Chitakale. Turn left onto the road that leads to Maganga. Follow the signs to Majete Wildlife Reserve. The reserve is located approximately 30 km from the junction, and you will see signs along the way indicating the entrance to the reserve. Please note that there may be a park entrance fee, so be prepared for that cost.

    To reach Majete Wildlife Reserve from Phalombe Plains using public transport, take a minibus from Phalombe to Mulanje. The journey will take about 30 to 40 minutes. Once you reach Mulanje, transfer to another minibus heading towards Maganga. Inform the driver that you wish to go to Majete Wildlife Reserve. The minibus will drop you off near the entrance of the reserve. Be aware of the entrance fee to the park, which you will need to pay before entering.
