Getting There

Car
If you are traveling by car within the Majete Wildlife Reserve, head towards the main entrance of the reserve. Once you pass the entrance, continue driving on the main road. After approximately 20 minutes, you will reach the junction near the park administration office. Take a left turn at the junction and follow the road for about 5 kilometers. You will see signs directing you to Chimpawu Villa. Follow those signs until you reach the villa.

Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, you will need to take a minibus from the nearest town to the Majete Wildlife Reserve. Most minibuses will drop you off at the park entrance. From there, you can hire a local taxi that will take you directly to Chimpawu Villa. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand, which should typically cost around 5000 to 10000 MWK depending on the distance. The taxi ride should take about 15-20 minutes.

If you find yourself near the park administration office, you can walk to Chimpawu Villa. It is about a 5-kilometer walk and will take approximately 1 hour. Head out towards the main road from the office, and follow the signs to Chimpawu Villa. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring plenty of water, especially if it is a hot day.
