Car
If you are driving, start from the center of Zomba city. Head east on Zomba-Malosa Road (also known as the M3). After about 3 kilometers, turn left onto a smaller road leading towards the Zomba Plateau. Follow this road for about 8 kilometers, enjoying the scenic views. Once you reach the plateau, look for signs directing you to the KAR War Memorial. The memorial is located at the coordinates J846+FRF, which is approximately 1 kilometer from the main road. There is no entry fee to visit the memorial.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, start by taking a minibus from Zomba city center heading towards the Zomba Plateau. Ask the driver to drop you off at the junction for the Zomba Plateau. This ride should cost around 500 MWK. From the junction, you can either walk (about 3 kilometers) or arrange for a local taxi to take you directly to the KAR War Memorial for approximately 1,000-2,000 MWK. The memorial is located at J846+FRF, which is easily accessible by following local signs.
Walking
If you are already in Zomba Plateau and prefer walking, you can navigate your way to the KAR War Memorial by following the trail signs. The memorial is about 1 kilometer from the main road in the plateau area. Start at the main viewpoint of the plateau and head southeast, keeping an eye out for directional signs. The walk will take about 20-30 minutes, and the area is fairly safe and scenic.
