Getting There

Walking
From the center of Zomba, head west on the main road (Chibavi Road) towards the Zomba Mountain. Continue walking straight for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you reach a T-junction. At the junction, turn right onto the J82C road. Keep walking for about 2 kilometers, passing through Zakazaka area. Look for a sign pointing towards Bwaila River. The river should be located just off the main road on your left side.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local shops in Zomba. Start your journey by cycling west along Chibavi Road for about 1.5 kilometers. When you reach the T-junction, turn right onto J82C road. Continue cycling for approximately 2 kilometers until you see a sign for Bwaila River on your left. The river is easily accessible from the road.

Catch a minibus from Zomba Main Market heading towards the Zakazaka area. The fare should be minimal. Inform the driver that you want to get off near Bwaila River. The journey will take around 15-20 minutes. Once you get off, walk back a short distance along the road (J82C) until you find the entrance to Bwaila River on your left.
