Day Trip to Kinabalu Park and Poring Hot Spring Guided Tour
Very good tour of Kinabalu park
An early morning start with our tour guide Michael picking us up at 07:20 and we were a small group of 9 people in a van. The first stop was a market place with an observatory platform and Mount Kinabalu in the background. The 2nd stop was Desa Dairy Farm where we had the chance to feed baby calves and view the mommy cows in the barn. We also had ice cream made from the cow's milk. Traffic was horrible on the way to the 3rd stop, the Rafflesia garden to see the largest flowers but the entrance fee of 30MYR is quite expensive. We had lunch at a restaurant in front of Kinabalu park and it was a good lunch. We spent about 1.5 hours walking around the park, visiting the waterfalls, hot springs and butterfly garden. Too bad the canopy walkway was closed. Afterwards we passed by the fish spa and the market place with barbecued pork for sale. On the way back to KKCC, it was raining so hard and the wind was strong, but our driver brought us back to our hotel safely by 08:00 pm.

Kinabalu Park & Poring Hot Springs Tour with Desa Dairy Farm
Quite a disappointing tour
A very long day but most of it spent on the road. Kinabalu Park is like a little village centre with market and souvenir shops but all shops sell the same stuffs. Views of Mt Kinabalu is not exactly spectacular here. The gelato at Desa Farm is good, very sunny here though temperature not that high. Poring Hot Spring is just so-so, the waterfall is a disappointment. Overall not enjoyable especially the guide did not give much commentary about the places and history. He's quiet most of the time.
