Kota Kinabalu: Catamaran Snorkeling, Paddlebord, Kayak with Meal

A relaxing afternoon activity

Our tour guide Timmy messaged us that since we would be the last in our group of 15 people, we would be picked up at 15:15. It is just a short distance from our hotel to the jetty port where we boarded the catamaran. It was a nice sunny day for cruising and the weather was perfect. Everyone changed to their swimming attires and relaxed in the sunbathing area of the catamaran. Drinks like beer and soda were for sale. We cruised for an hour to the island where we had our snorkeling, standing paddle board, and kayaking activities. The water temperature was just right. However, the corals and abundance of fish were just average compared to Komodo, Indonesia and what we have in the Philippines. Afterwards, we had a sunset cruise and we ate our packed dinner. We prefer buffet style or sit-down set meals, but since we were on cruise, a packed meal would have to do. We finished by 7:00 pm and were dropped off at our hotel.

Safe and fun filled Open Water Diver Course

Couldn't thank Bas (my diving instructor), Didy and his team enough. Bas is an experienced diver and an exceptional, patient teacher. I was really nervous when I first started, but he broke it down into achievable small steps and had been encouraging all throughout the course. My training and open water dive felt safe, thanks to Bas and his team. The boat captain, Didy has been really supportive during my course too. He made sure that I entered and exited the water safely at all times.
