If you're starting from the Kuching Waterfront, walk east along the riverbank towards the Main Bazaar area. Continue on towards the Sarawak River until you reach the ferry terminal (Kuching Ferry Terminal). Take the ferry across the river, which is a short ride. Once you reach the opposite bank, follow the path towards Petra Jaya. Continue walking straight for about 15-20 minutes, and you will see Fort Margherita on your left, situated by the riverside.

From the Kuching city center, locate the bus stop on Jalan Borneo and take Bus 3 towards Petra Jaya. The bus will take you directly to Petra Jaya, where you will need to alight at the nearest stop to Fort Margherita. After getting off, it’s a short walk towards the river. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions to Fort Margherita, which is a prominent landmark in the area.

Bicycle Rental
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops near the Kuching Waterfront. Head east along the river toward the ferry terminal and cross the Sarawak River. After disembarking, continue cycling straight towards Petra Jaya. It’s approximately a 20-minute ride. Fort Margherita will be on your left as you approach the riverbank.
