Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from Jonker Street, head south on Jalan Hang Jebat. Continue straight until you reach Jalan Laksamana. Turn right onto Jalan Laksamana and walk straight until you reach the intersection with Jalan Banda Hilir. Turn left onto Jalan Banda Hilir and continue straight for about 10 minutes. You will see Dutch Square (Red Square) on your right, marked by its iconic red buildings.

    If you are near A Famosa Fort, exit the fort and head southeast on Jalan Kota. Turn left onto Jalan Banda Hilir. Continue walking straight for approximately 15 minutes. Dutch Square (Red Square) will be on your left, just past the historical Christ Church and the Stadthuys.

    From the Malacca Sultanate Palace, exit the palace and head north on Jalan Merdeka. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Jalan Banda Hilir. Turn right onto Jalan Banda Hilir and walk for about 5 minutes. Dutch Square (Red Square) will be on your right, easily identifiable by its distinct red architecture.

Turn left onto Jalan Banda Hilir and walk straight for about 10 minutes.     Take the local bus number 17 from the nearest bus stop to your location. Make sure the bus is heading towards the Banda Hilir area. Get off at the nearest stop to Dutch Square. After getting off, walk straight for about 5 minutes, and you will arrive at Dutch Square (Red Square) on your right.
