If you're traveling by car from anywhere in the Northern Region, first head towards the North-South Expressway (E1). Depending on your starting point, merge onto the expressway heading south towards Kuala Lumpur. Once you're nearing Kuala Lumpur, take the exit towards Jalan Duta (Exit 261). Continue on Jalan Duta until you reach Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim. Follow this road, and you will arrive at Istana Negara, located at Jln Tuanku Abdul Halim, Bukit Damansara, Kuala Lumpur. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that there might be parking fees, typically around RM 2-5 per hour.

To reach Istana Negara by bus, begin by locating the nearest bus terminal or bus stop in your area. You can take any bus that goes towards Kuala Lumpur. Look for buses that stop at the Kuala Lumpur Central Bus Station (Pudu Sentral). Once you arrive at Pudu Sentral, transfer to a local bus (like Bus 21 or 28) that goes towards Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim. The bus fare should be around RM 2. After approximately 30 minutes, disembark at the nearest bus stop to Istana Negara and walk a short distance to the palace.

If you prefer the train, locate the nearest KTM Komuter station in your area. Board a train heading towards Kuala Lumpur. Get off at the Kuala Lumpur Sentral station. From there, you can take the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) from the Muzium Negara station (nearby) to the Bukit Bintang station. From Bukit Bintang, take a taxi or ride-sharing service to Istana Negara, which should cost you about RM 15-20. Alternatively, you can walk approximately 20 minutes from Bukit Bintang to Istana Negara, following Jalan Bukit Bintang and then Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim.
