If you are driving from Kuala Lumpur, take the E8 highway (also known as the Karak Highway) towards Genting Highlands. The journey is approximately 50 kilometers and takes about an hour. Follow the signs for Genting Highlands once you see them. After reaching the Genting Skyway entrance, park your car at the designated parking area. Note that parking fees may apply, typically around RM10 to RM15 per day.
Bus
From Kuala Lumpur, you can take a bus from the Pudu Sentral Bus Terminal. Look for buses that go directly to 'Genting Highlands.' The journey takes about 1 to 1.5 hours and costs around RM35. Buses run frequently, with departures every 30 minutes. Upon arrival at the Awana Bus Terminal in Genting, you can take the Genting Skyway cable car to reach the main resort area.
Taxi or Ride-hailing Service
For a more comfortable option, consider taking a taxi or using a ride-hailing service like Grab. The fare from Kuala Lumpur to Genting Highlands typically ranges from RM80 to RM120, depending on the time of day and demand. The journey takes about 1 hour, and the driver will take you directly to the resort's entrance.
Train and Cable Car
You can take the KTM Komuter train from Kuala Lumpur to the Batu Caves station. From there, take a taxi or Grab to the Awana Skyway station. The taxi ride takes about 15-20 minutes. Once at the Awana Skyway station, purchase a ticket for the cable car, which costs around RM8 for a one-way trip to the Genting resort area. The cable car ride offers scenic views of the mountains.
