Car
If you're driving from Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA), head southeast on Jalan Kepayan towards Jalan Lintas. Merge onto Jalan Lintas and follow the signs for Kota Kinabalu. After approximately 7 kilometers, take the exit onto Jalan Tanjung Lipat. Continue straight for about 5 kilometers, and you will reach Teluk Likas Beach. Parking is available near the beach, and it is usually free.
Public Bus
From the city center of Kota Kinabalu, you can take the public bus (Bus No. 1 or 2) heading towards Tanjung Aru. The fare is approximately RM 2.00. Inform the driver that you would like to get off at Teluk Likas Beach. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes, depending on traffic. Once you get off, follow the signs leading to the beach.
Taxi or Ride-Hailing Service
For a more comfortable option, you can take a taxi or use a ride-hailing service like Grab. From Kota Kinabalu city center, the cost will typically range from RM 15 to RM 25, depending on traffic. The journey takes about 15-20 minutes. Just provide the driver with the address: Jalan Tanjung Lipat, 88400 Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
Bicycle
If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle in Kota Kinabalu and bike to Teluk Likas Beach. The route from the city center is about 6 kilometers and is relatively flat. Make sure to wear a helmet and stay hydrated. There are bike rental shops around the waterfront area. The ride should take approximately 30-45 minutes.
