From the center of Sandakan, head to the nearest bus station, which is located at the Sandakan Central Market. Look for bus number S1, which goes towards Jalan Bukit Trig. The fare is usually around RM 1-2. Once on the bus, inform the driver you are going to Chong Tain Vun Park. After approximately 20-30 minutes, the bus will stop near the entrance of the park. Exit the bus and walk a short distance down Jalan Bukit Trig to reach the park entrance.

If you are staying in a hotel near the Sandakan Waterfront, you can walk to Chong Tain Vun Park. Start by heading towards Jalan Leila, which runs parallel to the waterfront. Continue straight until you reach Jalan Bukit Trig. Turn left onto Jalan Bukit Trig and walk for about 15-20 minutes. The park will be on your right-hand side. Look for the park entrance, which is marked with signs.
