Walking
If you are staying in Sandakan town, start at the Sandakan Harbour Square. From there, head east on Jalan Leila until you reach Jalan Buli Sim Sim. Turn left onto Jalan Buli Sim Sim and continue walking until it merges into Jalan Sandakan-Lahad Datu. Follow this road, which will curve along the coast, and after about 15-20 minutes of walking, you will see the Sepilok area sign. Continue straight until you reach Jalan Fabia, where the Rainforest Discovery Centre is located.

From Sandakan town, go to the nearest bus terminal located at Jalan Utara. Look for buses heading to Sepilok; these are often labeled with their destination on the front. The bus journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off at the Rainforest Discovery Centre, or look for the sign indicating the stop. Once you get off the bus, walk a short distance towards Jalan Fabia, and you will arrive at the centre.
