Car
If you are traveling by car, start from any major city in the West Coast, such as Kuala Lumpur or Ipoh. Head north on the North-South Expressway (E1) towards Gerik. Take the exit at Gerik and follow the signs to Banding Island. The journey will take approximately 3-4 hours depending on traffic. Once you reach Gerik, you will find signs directing you to the Banding Island area. You will need to park your car at the designated parking area near the jetty.
Public Bus
For those opting for public transportation, you can take a bus from Kuala Lumpur to Gerik. Buses to Gerik depart from Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) in Kuala Lumpur. The bus ride will take around 6-7 hours and cost approximately RM30-50. Upon arrival at the Gerik bus terminal, you will need to take a taxi or a local minibus to reach the jetty for Banding Island, which is about 30 minutes away. The taxi fare may range from RM30-50.
Taxi
If you are already in Gerik and prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi to take you to the jetty for Banding Island. This is a convenient option if you are traveling with a group. The taxi ride will take about 30 minutes and should cost around RM30-50. Ensure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey.
Boat
Once you reach the jetty, you will need to take a boat to Banding Island. Boats typically operate during the day, and the ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. The boat fare is around RM10-15 per person. It is advisable to check the boat schedule in advance to ensure you don't miss the last boat back.
