Getting There
Speedboat
The most common way to reach Ocean Retreat & Spa is by speedboat from Velana International Airport (MLE) near Malé. Speedboats offer a fast and convenient transfer, typically taking around 30-45 minutes. Upon arrival at the airport, a hotel representative will likely meet you and assist with the speedboat transfer. The speedboat will depart from a nearby jetty. A shared speedboat transfer costs approximately $35-$40 per person. Private speedboat transfers are also available for around $150 or more per boat. These can be arranged through the hotel.
Public Transport
A more budget-friendly option is the public ferry from Malé. The ferry departs from the Villingili Ferry Terminal in Malé. To reach the terminal from the airport, take the airport ferry, which operates every 10-15 minutes and costs $1 per person. Then, take a taxi from the Malé ferry terminal to Villingili Ferry Terminal. Taxi fares are fixed at MVR 25 (approximately $1.60). The public ferry to Guraidhoo takes approximately 2 hours and costs around $6 per person. However, the ferry operates on a limited schedule and may not be available every day. Check the schedule in advance.
