Republic Square is centrally located in Malé and easily accessible on foot from many points in the city. From the Malé Fish Market, walk north along Boduthakurufaanu Magu for approximately 5 minutes. The square will be on your left, near the Maldives National Defence Force headquarters.
Public Transport
The MTCC operates bus routes throughout Malé. Several bus lines stop near Republic Square. Check for the bus routes that stop at Hilaaleege, which is a 1-minute walk from the square. Bus fares start from MVR 3.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available in Malé. A short taxi ride to Republic Square from any point within the city typically costs MVR 20. Note that fares may increase to MVR 30 after 11:00 PM.
