Medhu Ziyaaraiy, meaning 'Central Tomb', stands as a testament to the introduction of Islam to the Maldives. This historical site and mausoleum is dedicated to Abdul Barakat Yoosuf Al Barbary, a Moroccan scholar whose influence led to the conversion of the Maldivian king, Dhovemi Kalaminja Siri Thiribuvana-aadiththa Maha Radun, and his people to Islam in 1153 AD.
