    Walking

    Republic Square is centrally located in Malé and easily accessible on foot from many points in the city. From the Malé Fish Market, walk north along Boduthakurufaanu Magu; the square will be on your left. From the National Museum or Sultan Park, walk north along Chaandhanee Magu, then turn left onto Boduthakurufaanu Magu. The square is a short walk from the Hulhumalé ferry terminal.

    Public Transport

    The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) operates bus routes throughout Malé. Check local bus schedules for the nearest stop to Republic Square. Bus fares start from MVR 3. Alternatively, public ferries connect Malé to nearby islands. The MTCC Terminal is conveniently located near the airport ferry. Ferry fares to nearby islands range from MVR 30 to MVR 75.

    Taxi

    Taxis are readily available in Malé. A taxi ride within the city typically costs MVR 20; fares increase to MVR 30 after 11:00 PM. You may be charged an extra MVR 10 for luggage. Taxis can be hailed on the street or arranged through your hotel.
