Getting There

  • Walking

    From the main bus terminal in Malé, head east on Fareedhee Magu Road. Continue straight until you reach the waterfront. Once at the waterfront, turn left and walk along the shoreline until you reach the Presidential Jetty. Walking from one end of Malé to the other will likely cost nothing and take approximately 20 minutes.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are readily available in Malé. The standard fare for short trips within the city is around MVR 20. You may be charged an extra MVR 5 for luggage. You can hail a taxi on the street or have your hotel call one for you.

  • Public Transport

    The Male Bus System, operated by MTCC, has routes throughout the city. Bus fares start at MVR 3. The MTCC Terminal is located near the airport ferry. From the terminal, you can walk along the waterfront to reach the Presidential Jetty. Ferry services connect Male to other islands with fares ranging from MVR 30 to MVR 75.
