Seaplane
From Velana International Airport (MLE) in Malé, the most scenic way to reach your resort in Ari Atoll is via seaplane. The flight takes approximately 20-30 minutes, offering breathtaking aerial views of the atolls. Seaplane transfers typically cost around USD 400-500 per person for a round trip. Note that seaplanes operate only during daylight hours (6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
Domestic Flight & Speedboat
A combination of domestic flight and speedboat offers a more budget-friendly alternative. First, take a 20-minute domestic flight from Malé to Maamigili Airport (VAM) in South Ari Atoll. A round-trip ticket costs around USD 299. From Maamigili, a speedboat will transfer you to your chosen island, typically a 20-minute ride. Speedboat transfers range from USD 20-50 per person.
Public Ferry & Speedboat
For budget travelers, public ferries are available from Malé to several local islands in Ari Atoll. The ferry journey can take 4-6 hours and costs approximately USD 8-10 per person one way. Ferries typically operate on specific days of the week, excluding Fridays. From the local island, you may need to hire a private speedboat to reach your final destination.
