Getting There

  • Ferry

    To reach Guraidhoo from Velana International Airport (VIA) or Malé, first take the airport ferry to Malé, which operates every 10-15 minutes and costs approximately $1 or MVR 15. Upon arrival in Malé, take a taxi to the Villingili Ferry Terminal; taxi fares are fixed at MVR 25. From Villingili Terminal, you can take either the Guraidhoo Ferry (direct) or the Province Ferry (transit). The direct ferry departs from Malé at 14:30 and from Guraidhoo at 07:00, with a travel time of about 2 hours. A one-way fare costs MVR 30 (USD 2) per person. Note that the direct ferry does not operate on Fridays. The Province Ferry stops at Gulhi and Maafushi before reaching Guraidhoo, taking approximately 2.5 hours. Costs: * Airport Ferry: USD 1 or MVR 15 * Taxi from Malé Airport Ferry Terminal to Villingili Ferry Terminal: MVR 25 * Guraidhoo Direct Ferry: MVR 30 (USD 2)

    For a faster journey to Guraidhoo from Malé or Velana International Airport (VIA), take a speedboat. Speedboats typically take 35-40 minutes. You can find scheduled speedboats departing from Malé at 12:30, 16:00 and 22:30 daily. From Guraidhoo, speedboats depart at 08:00, 14:30 and 17:30 daily. A shared speedboat costs approximately $35-$40 per person. Private speedboats can also be hired for around $150-$250 per boat (maximum 10 people).
