Republic Square is centrally located in Malé and easily accessible on foot from many points within the city. From the Malé Local Market, walk north along Chandhanee Magu, then turn left onto Boduthakurufaanu Magu; the square will be on your left. From the National Museum, walk north along Chaandhanee Magu; the square will be on your right. No costs are associated with walking.

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) operates bus routes within Malé. Bus stops are located on major streets and near key points of interest. Look for buses that travel along Boduthakurufaanu Magu. A single bus fare within Malé starts from MVR 3. From the airport, a bus to Malé costs around MVR 20.
Taxi
Taxis are readily available in Malé. A taxi ride within the city typically costs MVR 20. Fares may increase to MVR 30 after 11:00 PM. You may be charged an extra MVR 10 for trunk usage if you have luggage. Taxis can be hailed on the street or found at designated taxi stands.
