  • Ferry

    From Velana International Airport (MLE) in Malé, the most common way to reach Bodufolhudhoo is by a combination of ferry and speedboat. First, take the public ferry from the airport to Malé. This ferry runs frequently and costs approximately MVR 15 (about $1 USD). From Malé, you can then take a speedboat to Bodufolhudhoo. Speedboats typically cost between $50-$60 per person and the journey takes around 1.5 hours. Alternatively, there are public ferries that transit via Rasdhoo or Ukulhas, these are significantly slower (around 5 hours 30 mins) and only operate twice a week. These cost around $5 per person. It is highly recommended to book your speedboat transfer in advance through your guesthouse.

    For a faster but more expensive option, consider a seaplane transfer. Seaplanes operate from 6:30 am to 3:30 pm and can be arranged to the nearby Nika Island Resort, followed by a private speedboat to Bodufolhudhoo. Expect to pay around $320-$390 USD per person for the seaplane. The speedboat from Nika Island Resort to Bodufolhudhoo will incur an additional cost.
