For a budget-friendly option, take a public ferry from Malé to Mafuri Island. First, take a taxi from Velana International Airport to the Malé Villingili Ferry Terminal, costing approximately $2 USD. The ferry from Malé to Mafuri takes about 90 minutes and costs around $3-$5 USD per person. Ferries operate daily except for Fridays. Ferries depart from Malé at 3:00 PM, with additional ferries on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday at 10:00 AM. From Mafuri, ferries leave at 7:30 AM daily except Fridays, with an additional ferry at 12:45 PM. Tickets cannot be booked online, so arrive an hour early to purchase them.
