The primary way to reach Velaa Private Island is via seaplane from Velana International Airport (MLE) in Malé. Upon arrival at the airport, you'll be escorted to the Velaa Seaplane Lounge. From there, a 45-minute seaplane ride will take you directly to the island. A shared seaplane transfer costs USD 703 per adult per way (USD 772 from December 20, 2025, 50% discount for children from 2 to 11 years) including taxes. Private seaplane transfers are also available for USD 11,480 per way (USD 11,737 from December 20, 2025).

Alternatively, you can opt for a private yacht transfer from Velana International Airport. The yacht transfer takes approximately 4-5 hours and costs USD 15,444 per way, including taxes.
