The most convenient way to reach Thakandhoo is by taking a domestic flight from Velana International Airport (MLE) in Malé to Hanimaadhoo Airport (HAQ). Flights are approximately 50-60 minutes. Upon arrival at Hanimaadhoo, a 30-minute speedboat transfer will take you to Thakandhoo. Most guesthouses can arrange the complete transfer from Malé, including the domestic flight and speedboat connection. A one way speedboat transfer may cost around $100 per person. Domestic flights vary in price, so it's best to check with local travel agents. Be aware that weather conditions can occasionally affect flight schedules in this region, so it's advisable to allow buffer days in your travel plans.
