Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Birgu, head towards the waterfront promenade. Walk along the promenade until you reach the end where you see the entrance to the Valletta ferry terminal. Take the ferry to Valletta; it should take about 10 minutes. Upon arriving in Valletta, follow the signs leading to Republic Street. Once on Republic Street, continue walking straight for about 5 minutes until you reach City Gate, which will be on your left.

    From Birgu, walk to the nearest bus stop located on the main road (Triq Sant' Anna). Take the bus number 81 or 82 towards Valletta. The bus journey will take approximately 20 minutes. Once you arrive at the Valletta bus station, exit and walk towards Republic Street. Continue walking along Republic Street for about 5 minutes, and you will find City Gate on your left.
