Nestled in the serene landscape of Ghajnsielem, the Abandoned Isolation Hospital is a striking reminder of Malta's healthcare history. Established in the early 20th century, the hospital provided refuge for patients during times of epidemics. During World War I, the hospital treated casualties from the Dardanelles naval campaign.In the mid-20th century, the building served as a school for the island's children. The school closed in the 1960s due to a dwindling population. Though parts of the building have been used for residential purposes, much of it has slowly decayed.
