Self-guided Walking Tour of Valletta with Audio guide

Great self tour, try to avoid Sunday if you can.

This was a great value for the money. It hit on many of the historical sites, had a good amount of information, and gave me a good overview without losing my attention. The narration was engaging and funny. The inflection was occasionally a little off, so I’m not sure if it was AI reading it, or a recording glitch but either way it was really good and entertaining. I do wish they gave verbal directions to the next stop, the map often didn’t work so we had to use Google Maps. The Grand Master’s Palace was worth the €12. Unfortunately most of the historical buildings are churches so are closed on Sunday. You can see them from the outside but it was disappointing to not be able to look inside after the beautiful descriptions. Also we weren’t able to download it for some reason so had to listen to it with data, but it did come with a promo for a 500mb eSIM.

Valletta Private City Tour for Kids and Families in Malta

Great ground transportation in Sicily

We booked our ground transportation with Carmelo Eguitto Ncc tours +39 348 382 2993 for our Sicily portion tour. Christian, our driver was excellent in information, his punctuality, cleanliness of the MBZ SUV, pick up from Catania Airport till our drop off at the Ferry terminal in Pozzallo. This allowed us to maximize the Sicily tour which ended on Sept. 3, 2025. Our first apartment was in Syracuse which is a 7-minute walk to Ortigia, the old town/island. The apartment was in a quiet residential area, had an elevator and was a great place for the entire family to be under one roof. We took the first 2 days to recover from thew long flight and to explore both towns. There was more than enough to fill our time. We then drove south Noto-Marzameni until we reached Ragusa-Ibla which was worth the stop. We continued to Pozzallo on the third and caught the Virtu Ferry at 7pm. We wished we could have taken our driver Christian along as he had been a wealth of information and a very warm person.
