Discover more about San Blas Beach

San Blas Beach, nestled on Gozo's northeast coast, is a small, secluded bay renowned for its distinctive reddish-orange sand and tranquil atmosphere. Often called the 'little sister' to the more popular Ramla Bay, San Blas offers a unique and serene beach experience. The bay's name is derived from Saint Blaise, the patron saint of the area, honored by locals for centuries. The beach is approximately 100 meters in length and is surrounded by lush green vegetation, creating a cozy and intimate setting. The clear, azure waters are perfect for swimming and snorkeling, with diverse marine life inhabiting the rocky areas along the bay's sides. The beach's secluded nature ensures that it remains less crowded than other Gozitan beaches, even during peak season.Accessing San Blas Bay involves a journey down a steep and narrow road from Nadur. The final stretch is closed to traffic due to its steepness, requiring visitors to walk. This descent, while challenging, helps maintain the beach's peaceful ambiance. A jeep service operates during summer months for those who prefer not to walk. While San Blas has limited facilities, deckchairs are available for hire, and a small kiosk offers refreshments. The untouched natural surroundings and absence of large-scale development add to the bay's appeal, providing a pristine environment for beachgoers.
