It's a designated nature reserve and bird sanctuary, offering peace and natural beauty. While the island has a small official population, it boasts clear, glittering sea with various shades of blue and green, making it ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and exploring the rocky reefs, sandy bays, and caverns along the coast.Historically, Comino served as a haven for pirates and, later, as a hunting ground for the Knights of St. John. The Knights also used it as a place of imprisonment or exile for errant members, who sometimes manned St. Mary's Tower as punishment. Today, visitors can explore St. Mary's Tower, Comino Chapel, and other attractions.Ebsons Comino Ferry not only provides transportation but also enhances the experience with optional cave tours during the ferry trip, showcasing the intricate rock formations and underwater tunnels around Comino.
