Getting There

    From the central area of Gzira, head towards the seafront promenade. Walk along the promenade in the direction of Sliema. Continue walking until you reach the end of the promenade where it meets the ferry terminal. At the ferry terminal, you can catch a ferry to Valletta. The ferry ride takes approximately 10 minutes and offers beautiful views of the harbor. Upon arriving in Valletta, disembark and follow the signs towards 'Lower Barrakka'. It's a short 10-minute walk uphill from the ferry terminal. You will walk past the Upper Barracca Gardens and proceed to Lower Barrakka which is located near the coast.

  • Public Bus

    From Gzira, walk to the nearest bus stop on Triq ix-Xatt, situated along the promenade. Take bus number 12 or 13 towards Valletta. The bus ride takes about 15-20 minutes. Once you reach the Valletta bus terminus, follow the signs for the city gate. After entering Valletta, head to Merchant Street and then turn left onto Old Bakery Street. Continue straight until you reach the Barracca Lift. Take the lift down to the Lower Barracca Gardens, which is a short walk from the lift exit.

    From Gzira, head to the Gzira ferry terminal located along the promenade. Purchase a ticket for the ferry to Valletta. The ferry departs regularly and the journey takes about 10 minutes. Once you arrive in Valletta, walk directly towards the Lower Barracca Gardens which is a 10-minute walk uphill from the ferry terminal. Follow the coastal path and you will see signs directing you towards the gardens.
