From Malta Ridge, take the main road towards Valletta. Follow signs for Valletta and merge onto the main arterial road, the Valletta Bypass (Triq il-Kbira). Continue along this road until you reach the entrance to Valletta. Once you enter Valletta, follow the signs for Fort St Elmo, which is located on Mediterranean Street. There is limited parking nearby, so be prepared to find street parking or use one of the public parking facilities in Valletta.

From Malta Ridge, locate the nearest bus stop and take the bus towards Valletta. Bus numbers 31, 32, 133, and 134 frequently run to Valletta. The journey will take approximately 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive at the Valletta bus terminal, exit and walk towards Mediterranean Street. Follow the signs to Fort St Elmo, which is a short 10-minute walk from the bus terminal.

If you are already in Valletta, from the main bus terminal, head towards the Upper Barracca Gardens. From there, take the stairs down towards the water and continue walking along the coast until you reach Fort St Elmo. The walk is approximately 15-20 minutes and offers scenic views of the harbor.
