From Mellieha, head to the nearest bus stop, which is located on the main street near the Mellieha parish church. Catch the bus number 44 towards Valletta. After about 30 minutes, get off at the stop 'Mdina' which is right outside the city gates of Mdina. From there, walk straight through the main gate and follow the signs towards Bastion Square, which will take you about 10 minutes.

If you prefer walking, start from the center of Mellieha, near the church. Head south towards the main road and follow it until you reach the bus stop area. From there, you can take a walking trail that leads through the countryside towards Mdina, which is roughly a 1.5 to 2-hour walk, taking you through scenic views. Upon reaching Mdina, make your way to the city gates and follow the signs to Bastion Square.

For a quicker option, you can take a taxi from Mellieha to Mdina. Taxis can be found near the main square or you can call one using a local taxi service. The ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive at Mdina, simply ask the driver to drop you off at the entrance to the city, then walk towards Bastion Square which is a short distance from the entrance.
