    From Mgarr ix-Xini, get onto Triq il-Foss. Drive straight for about 1.5 km until you reach a roundabout. Take the second exit onto Triq il-Knisja. Continue for 1 km, and at the next roundabout, take the first exit onto Triq l-Imġarr. Follow this road until you reach a fork, then keep left to stay on Triq l-Imġarr. After approximately 2 km, you will see signs for Xatt l-Aħmar Salt Pans. Turn left onto the road leading to the Salt Pans. Parking is available nearby.

    Public Transportation

    From Mgarr ix-Xini, walk to the nearest bus stop located on Triq il-Foss. Take bus number 222 towards Ghajnsielem. After about 15 minutes, disembark at the Ghajnsielem bus terminus. From the bus terminus, walk for about 15 minutes towards the coast, following signs that lead you to Xatt l-Aħmar Salt Pans. The path is well-marked and will take you directly to the location.

Continue for about 1.5 km, and then turn left onto Triq il-Knisja. Keep going straight, following the curve of the road until you reach the fork. At the fork, keep left onto Triq l-Imġarr. Walk for another 2 km until you reach the Salt Pans. Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes, as parts of the path may be uneven.
