Getting There

Walking
Starting from the Mgarr ferry terminal, exit the terminal and head straight towards the main road (Triq il-Ferry). Walk along this road, following the signs for Mgarr town. After about 10 minutes, you will reach the central square of Mgarr (Pjazza San Nikola). From here, turn left onto Triq il-Knisja. Continue straight for about 15 minutes until you reach the outskirts of Mgarr. You will see a sign for 'Siġġiewi' on your left. Follow this path and take the 'Siġġiewi' road. As you walk, you will pass by the beautiful countryside and some local farms. After approximately 30 minutes, you will arrive at the intersection near Misraħ Għar il-Kbir. The archaeological site will be located on your right. The total walk will take around an hour.

From the Mgarr bus stop (located near the ferry terminal), take the bus route 41 towards Valletta. After approximately 15 minutes, get off at the 'Siġġiewi' stop. Once you disembark, walk straight along Triq il-Knisja for about 10 minutes. You will see the sign for 'Misraħ Għar il-Kbir' on your left. The archaeological site is about a 5-minute walk from the bus stop.
