Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Qawra, head towards the bus stop on Triq il-Korp Tal-Punent Street. You can find this bus stop near the popular Tourist Information Centre. Board the bus heading towards Valletta or Mdina. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Disembark at the Mdina bus terminus. Once you get off the bus, walk towards the entrance of Mdina, which is marked by impressive gates. Continue walking straight into the Mdina town center. After entering, take a left onto Triq Villegaignon, and follow this road until you reach Pjazza Publju. The National Museum of Natural History will be located on your right at Pjazza Publju.

    If you prefer a more scenic route, you can walk from Qawra to Mdina. Start at the Qawra Promenade and follow the coastline towards Bugibba. From Bugibba, continue walking towards St. Paul's Bay. Once you reach the roundabout at St. Paul's Bay, take the path leading uphill towards Mdina. This route can take about 1.5 to 2 hours, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated. Upon reaching Mdina, head towards the main gates and follow the directions to Pjazza Publju, where the museum is located.

    From your accommodation in Qawra, walk to the nearest bus stop and catch the bus number 186 or 202 towards Valletta. After approximately 20 minutes, transfer to bus number 51 or 52 at the Valletta bus terminus that goes directly to Mdina. After about 10 minutes, get off at the Mdina bus stop. Walk through the Mdina gates, and make your way to Pjazza Publju. The National Museum of Natural History will be on your right.
