Getting There

  • Walk

    From the Upper Barracca Gardens, head down the steps towards the Valletta Waterfront. Once you reach the waterfront, turn left and walk along the promenade. Follow the path until you reach the end of the promenade, where you will find the ferry terminal. Here, you can take the ferry to Sliema. The ferry ride is scenic and takes about 10 minutes. Once you arrive in Sliema, disembark and walk straight along the promenade towards Gżira. You will pass several shops and cafes. Continue walking straight until you see the sign for Manoel Island. Follow the signs, and you will reach Fort Manoel in approximately 15-20 minutes.

    From the main bus terminus in Valletta, take bus number 13 or 14 towards Sliema. The journey will take about 15 minutes. Get off at the Gżira stop. Once you exit the bus, walk towards the waterfront. Turn right and walk along the promenade until you reach the ferry terminal. From there, you can walk towards Manoel Island, following the signs. It should take you about 15-20 minutes to reach Fort Manoel from the waterfront.
