Walking
If you are at the Upper Barracca Gardens, exit the gardens and head towards the lift that takes you down to the Valletta Waterfront. Once you reach the bottom, turn left and walk along the waterfront until you reach the end. Then turn right onto Triq il-Lanca, continuing straight until you reach the main street, Triq il-Kbira. Turn left onto Triq il-Kbira and walk until you reach St. George's Square. From the square, take Old Treasury Street, which is just off the square, and continue walking until you reach the National Library of Malta at 36 Old Treasury Street.
Public Transport
From the Valletta bus terminal, exit towards the main entrance where you see the Triton Fountain. Walk straight towards Republic Street, which is the main street in Valletta. Continue walking along Republic Street until you see the Parliament building. From there, turn right onto Old Treasury Street, and the National Library of Malta will be on your left at number 36.

If you are near the Fort St. Elmo, exit the fort and head towards the coast. Walk along the shoreline towards the city until you reach the main road, Triq Sant' Anna. Turn left and walk straight until you reach the entrance of Valletta. Continue straight up towards the city center, and once you reach the main square, turn left onto Old Treasury Street. The National Library will be a short walk along this street on your right.
Walking
If you are at the National Museum of Archaeology, exit the museum and head left towards Republic Street. Walk down Republic Street until you reach St. George's Square. From the square, take the first right onto Old Treasury Street, and the National Library of Malta will be located at number 36 on your left.
