Getting There

Walking
From the Upper Barracca Gardens, head down the steps towards the city center. Once you reach the main thoroughfare, Republic Street, turn left and walk straight. Continue walking until you reach the end of Republic Street where it meets the Lower Barracca Garden. From there, take the left path that leads to the waterfront. Follow the promenade along the coast until you reach Fort St. Elmo, which is situated at the tip of the peninsula. The entrance to the National War Museum is located on Mediterranean Street, just past the fort.

Public Transport
If you're near the Valletta Bus Station, catch bus number 133 or 134. These buses will take you directly to the stop called 'St. Elmo'. Once you disembark, walk towards Mediterranean Street, and you will see the entrance to the National War Museum - Fort St. Elmo right ahead.

Walking
From the City Gate, walk straight down Republic Street until you reach the end. Take a right onto St. Lucia Street, and follow it until you reach the end where it merges into the Lower Barracca Garden. Continue walking along the coast until you reach Fort St. Elmo. The National War Museum is located at the entrance of the fort on Mediterranean Street.
