If you are in the Upper Barracca Gardens, exit the gardens and head towards the main road, which is called the Valletta Waterfront. From there, you can follow the signs for Republic Street. Walk down the path until you reach the junction with Merchant Street. Turn right onto Merchant Street and continue straight until you reach the end of the street, where it intersects with Republic Street. City Gate will be directly in front of you.

Starting from the Valletta Bus Station, exit the station and head towards the main road. Walk straight along the road, which becomes Republic Street. Continue walking straight for about 5-10 minutes, passing various shops and cafes on your right and left. City Gate will be ahead of you, marked by its impressive architectural structure.
